Growing little followers of Jesus

Kids Church

Kids Church is all about growing little followers of Jesus.  We want to partner with parents to introduce kids to Jesus, teaching them to love Him and live for Him as part of God’s family. Our Sunday programs run at 9am and 1030am service.

We provide a number of programs for kids of all ages. All leaders are have current blue cards and comply with Presbyterian Queensland Child Protection Policy.

Baby Lounge

A safe environment where parents can listen to the Bible talk with babies.

Creche : >3 years

A safe, play based environment for kids who are happy to leave their parents while the Bible talk is on.  Children will move into the Minis program the term following their 3rd birthday.
Children in Creche need to be signed in and out of the room immediately after the service.

Minis : 3 years & Kindy

This program is a welcoming environment that introduces children to Jesus and God’s plan for salvation.  Over the two years, children will learn about Jesus’ Life and as well as looking at God’s promise of rescuing his people throughout the Old Testament through music, craft, bible stories and memory verses.
Children in Minis need to be signed in and out of the room immediately after the service.

Prep – Grade 3

This engaging program includes a combination of dramas, puppets, singing, memory verses, craft, games and small groups to further develop their understanding of God’s good news to us in Jesus Christ.  This program follows the sermon series as closely as possible, so that parents can discuss with their kids what they have been learning as well. They meet in the hall and then head to the Goldsmith Centre for small groups.  These leaders will bring your children back to the courtyard 10 – 15 minutes after the service, so that you will have an opportunity to grab a coffee and meet some of the regulars at mpc.

Grade 4-6

Also following the sermon series, this program focuses more on small groups and helping the children grapple with their understanding of the gospel and what it means for their lives.  The children also have great opportunities to build relationships through games, memory verse activities and Bible stories and prayer. They meet at the entrance gate, before heading across to a room under the ministry centre.  These leaders will bring your children back to the courtyard 10 – 15 minutes after the service, so that you will have an opportunity to grab a coffee and meet some of the regulars at mpc.

Safety at Kids Church

To help you and your children settle quickly into church, we’ll ask you to complete a kids connect card.  To ensure the safety of your children,  we need to be made aware of any food allergies as we often use food during the program or have morning tea together. You can come prepared by printing one out and handing it to one of the welcomers.

Once you have completed a card, the welcoming team will introduce you to Meryl, (Kids coordinator) or one of the kids church team, who will greet your children and explain where to go and be a friendly face when they are dropped off at the program.
